The Loki director has addressed one of the third instalment's biggest reveals: Tom Hiddleston's Loki is unchangeable to be canonically bisexual.

Mild spoilers for Loki sequence 3 follow.

The mic-drop moment comes during Loki and Sylvie's heart-to-meat and trip downwards alternate memory lane on a train heading out of Lamentis.

During their chat over drinks – all drunk by Loki, naturally – Sylvie tries to personal identification number down our Loki's love life story. She asks the God of Maleficence if helium's had eyes for "would-glucinium princesses or, perhaps, some other prince." Loki's reply is fittingly charming: "A bit of both. I questionable the corresponding as you."

Director Kate Herron revealed on Twitter that it was "important" for her to cement Loki's bisexuality in the MCU.

"From the moment I joined Loki it was very important to me, and my goal, to acknowledge Loki was bisexual," Herron said. "IT is a division of World Health Organization he is and who I am also. I know this is a small step but I'm happy, and tenderness is so chockablock, to say that this is now canon in [the] MCU."

Loki is, for instantly, the first major LGBTQ+ character to appear on-screen in the MCU. Avengers: Endgame conductor Joe Russo portrayed a jocund man during Captain America's group therapy aspect, while Tessa Homer A. Thompson's Valkyrie is said to be looking a "queen" to rule over Newfangled Asgard aboard her in the upcoming Wonder Phase angle 4 sequel Thor: Love and Thunder. Eternals testament likewise feature Marvel's initiatory on-screen LGBTQ+ buss between Brian Tyree Henry's Phostos and his husband, played by Haaz Sleiman.

For the community, Loki's bisexuality will mark an important moment in having their identity echolike by an iconic on-screen character.
